We were made to share. Our default mode is to get as much as we can—for ourselves and for our little kingdoms. But God redirects our desires to give as much as we can—to others and to his Kingdom.
Giving tells your heart that God will provide. It’s an act of trust, and it’s an act of love.
By Cash or Check
If you would like to participate in giving, you are welcome to contribute by cash or check during the offertory reflection at our Sunday services. You can also mail cash or check donations to our office, at 305 N. California Ave in Palo Alto.
Giving assets such as stocks or bonds is a particularly tax-advantageous way to donate. If your stock is in a brokerage account, the transfer is relatively easy. The only information that your broker needs to make the transfer is our account number (Charles Schwab, 77759612) and our church’s EIN (94-3375692).
When you do make the transfer, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know. Share the type of stock and the amount, so that the donation is recorded under your name and you can receive the appropriate tax deduction. Grace’s policy is to sell the assets as soon as they are received, so that the funds can be used directly for ministry.
A number of companies (including Google, Netflix, and Apple) match their employees’ giving up to a certain level through benevity.org. Company gifts go directly into our Diaconal Mercy Fund, which means that your workplace can help support our compassion efforts! Check with your employer to learn whether your company offers corporate matching.
You can also support Grace Pres while shopping online, using AmazonSmile. Use the AmazonSmile website and select “Grace Presbyterian Church of Silicon Valley.” A portion of your purchases will benefit our church each time you shop!
