LIVING GENEROUSLY
We were made to share. Our default mode is to get as much as we can—for ourselves and for our little kingdoms. But God redirects our desires to give as much as we can—to others and to his Kingdom.
Giving tells your heart that God will provide. It’s an act of trust, and it’s an act of love.
Make a one-time donation or set up recurring giving through our giving page, or by using the Church Center app on your phone. You can specify if you would like your donation to contribute to the General Fund, the Diaconal Mercy Fund, or our Building Fund.
By Cash or Check
If you would like to participate in giving, you are welcome to contribute by cash or check during the offertory reflection at our Sunday services. You can also mail cash or check donations made out to Grace Presbyterian Church of Silicon Valley to our office, at 305 N. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94305.
Donating Assets
Giving assets such as stocks or bonds is a particularly tax-advantageous way to donate. If your stock is in a brokerage account, the transfer is relatively easy. The information that brokers typically need to make the transfer is below:
Receiving Institution: Charles Schwab & Co.
Receiving Account #: 77759612
Receiving Account Title: Grace Presbyterian Church of Silicon Valley (EIN: 94-3375692)
DTC Clearing #: 0164, Code 40
When you do make a transfer, please contact office@gracepres.com to let us know. Share the type of stock and the amount, so that the donation is recorded under your name and you can receive the appropriate tax deduction. Grace’s policy is to sell the assets as soon as they are received, so that the funds can be used directly for ministry.
Corporate Matching
A number of companies (including Google, Netflix, and Apple) match their employees’ giving up to a certain level through benevity.org. Company gifts go directly into our Diaconal Mercy Fund, which means that your workplace can help support our compassion efforts! Check with your employer to learn whether your company offers corporate matching.
