what is GraceTeen?

We're students in High Schools all over the Peninsula and South Bay. GraceTeen is big enough to do great things, but small enough that the leaders really care for each teen in the group. We're individuals, not just faces in a crowd. We're busy because we're involved in our schools and our unique lives: sports, music, art, whatever. Yet we want to make Jesus the core of who we are.

what do we do?

We meet together with our leaders to talk through the core issues of growing up as a Christian, we worship together, we have cool trips and we serve the community. We also just hang out and have a good time.  We know that following Jesus means having real, authentic relationships--and not just with other Christians.  We don't want to be Christian posers, but have a genuine life together.

We meet every Sunday morning after church.  Check out the calendar page to see what we do.

what is the purpose of GraceTeen (the stuff parents like to see)

Purpose

GraceTeen exists to win and mature disciples of Jesus. Teens will do so by learning God's word, relating God's way, and applying God's truth to all aspect of their lives.

Core Values and Beliefs

Gospel Centrality:
Teenagers face a host of expectations. They, perhaps more than any other group, need the Good News of Jesus to combat the lies they are told about themselves. Teenagers need to hear and believe that God loves them unconditionally in Christ.

Gospel Community: Teenagers also have a deep need to belong. The gospel's promise of new life falls flat without new community. Youth ministry must be pursued in a community setting. Teenagers must see that the gospel transforms relationships and includes the social connection humans are built for.

Gospel Outreach: A community based around the gospel will by nature be outward looking and compassionate towards those who are not yet in a relationship with Christ. Teenagers particularly need to feel welcomed and enjoyed. They also need to experience impacting others for God.

Gospel Changes Lives: Teenagers who meet Christ in their hearts, in community and in service will necessarily experience transformed lives, and others will be drawn to them.
